1. Who we are
TutorCat is a directory that helps families across the Gulf find tutors and study-destination counselors. It covers the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Kuwait, Bahrain and Oman. It runs at [website address].
TutorCat is operated by [legal name of the business], [licence number], [registered address]. In this policy, "we" and "us" mean TutorCat.
To ask anything about your personal data, contact us at tutorcatsupport@gmail.com.
2. What we collect and why
Our forms do not send anything to us by themselves. Each form prepares an email that you copy or open in your own email app. We only receive the information if you choose to send that email.
| When you | What you give us | Why we use it |
|---|---|---|
| Ask for an introduction | Your name, email, the student's level, the type of support needed, the tutor or counselor you chose (optional), your message | To reply to you and introduce you to a tutor or counselor |
| Apply to join as a tutor or counselor | Full name, email, phone (optional), whether you tutor or counsel, country, city and area, years of experience, online or in-person sessions, subjects, destination countries, languages, availability, photo link, profile link, experience, bio, your consents | To check your application and, if it is approved, publish your profile |
| Submit a review | Your name, email, the tutor or counselor reviewed, your rating, session type, your comment, whether we may publish it | To confirm the review with the tutor, check it against our review rules, and publish it if you allowed that |
| Report a concern | What happened, who it is about (optional), when and how it happened (optional), your name and contact details (optional), your confirmation that the report is true to the best of your knowledge | To look into the concern and keep the site safe. Reports are never published, and we do not tell the person reported who made the report |
| Browse the site | Your language and theme (light or dark) choice, saved only in your own browser | To remember your choices. This is never sent to us. |
Your shortlist of saved tutors is not stored anywhere. It disappears when you close the page.
What we don't do:
- No user accounts or passwords yet.
- No cookies.
- No analytics, tracking pixels or advertising.
- We never sell personal data.
- We do not take or handle payments for lessons. Families pay tutors directly.
3. Public profiles and reviews
Tutor and counselor profiles are public. We publish them only after the person applies, agrees to our listing terms, and we approve the profile.
- What a profile can show: name, role, subjects and curricula, destination countries, country and city, online or in-person sessions, languages, education and experience, bio, the contact method the tutor chose to make public, and whether a permit has been verified.
- Photos appear only if the tutor gave permission and we approved the photo.
- What we never publish: private phone numbers or emails (unless the tutor chose one as their public contact), home addresses, permit numbers, internal notes, or student details.
- Profile information is part of a public data file used to build the site, so anyone can view or copy it.
Reviews are published only if the reviewer gave permission, the tutor confirmed the reviewer was their student or parent, and our team approved the review. A published review shows whether the reviewer is a student or a parent, plus the rating and comment. It never shows the reviewer's name or email.
Tutors and counselors can ask us to correct, pause or remove their profile at any time.
4. Other services involved
A few outside services are involved when you use the site. Each has its own privacy policy.

5. Children

We do not knowingly collect personal data directly from children. If we learn that we have, we will delete it.
Profiles and reviews must not name or identify students who are children. We remove any that do.
6. How long we keep data and how we protect it
We keep personal data only as long as we need it for the reason you gave it to us.

8. Changes to this policy
We will update this policy before we add any of the following:
- accounts for tutors and counselors
- tutor tools that store students, lessons, invoices or bank details
- a reporting system that stores reports itself (today, the report page only prepares an email that you send us yourself)
- profile view statistics
- online payments
Each update changes the "Last updated" date on this page. If a change is significant, we will email listed tutors and counselors before it takes effect.
